Removal and installation the SAI air blower (BMW 7 Series E38)
Remove the air cleaner housing (see section Removal and installation the air cleaner housing).
1. Loosen the nuts securing the SAI air blower to the body.
2. Remove the front engine crankcase protection panel.
3. Remove the right air flow guide and the right brake disc ventilation pipe.
4. Disconnect the pressure hose and air intake hose from the supercharger. Disconnect the supercharger wiring connector.
5. Remove the blower and, if necessary, remove the holders from it.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
1. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the hose.
2. Remove the bolt securing the hose holder to the front side member.
3. Remove the screw.
4. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the cover. Remove the right fog lamp (see chapter On-board electrical equipment).
5. Disconnect the connectors.
6. Loosen the clamps and remove the hoses.
7. Unscrew the bolts and remove the supercharger together with the bracket in an upward direction.
8. If necessary, remove the resistor and hose and lift the blower out of the bracket.
9. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Models with M60 engines

1. Loosen the nuts securing the SAI air blower to the body.
2. Remove the front engine crankcase protection panel.
3. Remove the right air flow guide and the right brake disc ventilation pipe.
4. Disconnect the pressure hose and air intake hose from the supercharger. Disconnect the supercharger wiring connector.
5. Remove the blower and, if necessary, remove the holders from it.
6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Models with M73 engine

1. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the hose.

2. Remove the bolt securing the hose holder to the front side member.

3. Remove the screw.

4. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the cover. Remove the right fog lamp (see chapter On-board electrical equipment).

5. Disconnect the connectors.

6. Loosen the clamps and remove the hoses.

7. Unscrew the bolts and remove the supercharger together with the bracket in an upward direction.
8. If necessary, remove the resistor and hose and lift the blower out of the bracket.
9. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
