Automatic Stability Control (ASC) (BMW 5 Series E34)

This system prevents the drive wheels from slipping even under unfavourable conditions (ice) and thus, within the limits of physical capabilities, ensures stabilisation of the vehicle's movement.

This system is activated when the engine is started.

The ASC indicator lamp goes out after the engine is started.

To turn off the system, press the button - the indicator lamp lights up.

To turn it on, press the button again - the indicator lamp goes out. Flashing of the indicator lamp means that ASC has switched to the regulation mode, i.e. according to the driving conditions it is forced to regulate the drive forces of the wheels.

If the indicator lamp does not go out after starting the engine or lights up while driving, this indicates that the ASC has failed. The car can be operated in normal mode without ASC, but if possible, we recommend that you contact a BMW service station to repair the system.
