Removal and installation the exterior rearview mirror housing (BMW 5 Series E39)
Removal
Remove the mirror glass.
Mirror with automatic dimming system
Fold the mirror forward.
Release the retaining clips and remove the cover.
Fold the mirror forward completely again.
Remove the screws and remove the frame.
Mirror without auto-dimming system
Fold the mirror forward.
Release the retaining clips and remove the cover.
Installation
Screw on the frame.
Secure the lid.
Install the mirror glass.
