Removal and installation the outside rearview mirror (BMW 5 Series E39)

Removal

Remove the door trim.

Remove the tweeter cover. Remove the front part of the window glass trim from the passenger compartment side (anti-pinch pad) — you don't need to remove the entire casing. Remove the foam rubber insulation from the high-frequency speaker (triangular shape).



Unscrew the fastener, move the high-frequency speaker "1" up and remove it.



Remove the top screw "2".

Slightly push the rubber seal to the side and unscrew the front screw "3".

Press the wires with the plug and insert through the hole in the door and remove the mirror.

Installation

Guide the electrical wires of the mirror drive system together with the insert through the hole in the door

Place the outside mirror, screw it in with two screws and tighten them to a torque of 5 Nm.



Insert the high-frequency speaker from above along the guide and tighten the mounting screws to a torque of 5 Nm.

Put the foam rubber insulation back in place (triangular shape) high frequency loudspeaker.

Install the front part of the window glass trim from the interior side, press the cover of the high-frequency speaker.

Install door trim.
