Withdrawal
Note: The illustrations show removal with the door trim installed. Removal requires 2 special BMW tools and some experience. Otherwise, the door trim is recommended to be removed.
Remove the cap from the end of the door.
Attention: The plug consists of two parts. First you need to wring out the central part with a screwdriver, then unfasten and pull out the outer part.
Insert tool BMW-5132D2 through the mounting hole and raise the locking bar -1- of the locking plate -2- over the locking lug -3-.
Insert the BMW-513201 tool through the hole in the locking plate -2- and press it forwards with the locking bar -1- raised.
Remove tool BMW-513202.
Removal without the use of special tools
Remove door trim.
Make a suitable hook from the wire yourself. In this case, the end of the wire (diameter 2 mm) dimension X = 5 mm bent at a right angle.
Insert the hook instead of BMW-51 3201 through the mounting hole in the end of the door into the lug of the locking plate.
Using the hook, push the locking plate forward as far as it will go.
Using a screwdriver, lift the locking bar -1- of the locking plate -2- over the locking lug. In this position, use the hook -3- to push the locking plate forward until the door opening provides access to the outside door handle. The illustration shows the position of the locking board with the outside door handle removed. 3 - the wire hook is inserted into the eye of the locking board.
Pull out the outer door handle at the bottom by pulling it out obliquely.
Installation
Insert the outside door handle and press down.
Using tool BMW-513201 or a wire hook, pull the locking plate -2- back until the locking bar engages. 1 - hole in the locking board.
Operate the outside door handle and check that it functions correctly.
If removed, reinstall door trim.
Insert the plug from the end of the door. In this case, first fix the outer part, and then press the inner one.
