On the driver's side, remove the front door lock cylinder assembly (see above), on the front passenger side, remove the outer door handle plug. Loosen the nut (1, Fig. 18.48) outer handle, but do not unscrew it. When installing the handle, tighten the nut to a torque of 3.2 N·m (0.32 kgf·m). Put the old outer frame (1, Fig. 18.49) screws, due to the risk of damaging the paintwork. Pull the outer handle (2) outward/upward as far as possible and fix it in this position with a screwdriver (3). When dismantling, the outer handle remains in a fixed position with a screwdriver.

Pull the outer handle (1, Fig. 18.50) down from the rear drive (2) of the lock. Pull the outer handle (1) down as far as possible (as shown in the picture) from the front drive (4) of the lock outward and remove it.

The installation of the outer door handle should be carried out in reverse order, using the old outer frame to cover the screws (due to the risk of damage to the paintwork). Press the drive (1, Fig. 18.51) the lock assembly with a screwdriver (2) to the "Open" position. In this position, check the handle fastenings and its seals, and replace damaged elements if necessary. Install the outer handle.

Attention! Check the operation of the door lock only when it is open.
