Removal and installation the lower luggage door lock (BMW X5 E53)

The replacement of the lower luggage door lock must be carried out in the following order: Remove the trim of the lower luggage door. Unscrew the screws (.., Fig. 18.62) fastening the cover of the drive (..) of the lock. Disconnect the SS (1) of the lock drive. Hook and remove the drive cable (2) from the right lock and the cable (3) from the left lock, and remove the drive (4).



Release from holders (2, Fig. 18.63) drive cable (3). Unscrew the screws (4) securing the lock and remove the left and right locks (5). When installing, place the cable (3) under the wire, it must be correctly fixed in the lock.
