Removal and installation the upper luggage door lock (BMW X5 E53)

The replacement of the upper luggage door lock must be carried out in the following order: Remove the rear window wiper motor and disconnect the SS (2, Fig. 18.59) lock drive. Unscrew the screws (1) and remove the lock (3).



Release the clamps and remove the central (emergency) drive (1, Fig. 18.60) from the lock (2) of the door.

Caution! Do not apply lubricant to the bracket or the trunk lid lock.

When installing, adjust the locking mechanism (bracket) of the upper part of the trunk lid lock.
