Rear light assembly (on the trunk lid) (before 09/2006) (BMW X3 E83)

Removal and installation the left or right rear light assembly (on the trunk door) (until 09/2006)

Caution: Follow the ESD protection instructions (ESD - Electrostatic Discharge).

1. Remove the trunk lid trim.



2. Disconnect the connector (1).

3. Unscrew the nut (2).

Tightening torque: 4.0±0.5 Nm.

4. Disconnect the rear light assembly (3) in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it outward from the trunk lid.

5. Remove the cartridge casing.

Note:

• When installing, it is necessary to pay attention to the correct position of the guide element (4) in the hole (5) in the trunk door.
• Pay attention to the correct position of the sealing frame on the rear light unit (3).

Note: When installing, ensure that the tabs (1) of the rear light assembly (2) are positioned exactly above the side edge of the trunk lid (3).

6. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
