Rear light assembly (on the fender) (before 09/2006) (BMW X3 E83)

Removal and installation the left or right rear light assembly (on the wing) (until 09/2006)

Caution: Follow the ESD protection instructions (ESD - Electrostatic Discharge).

1. Remove the rear light assembly socket cover.



2. Unscrew the nuts (1, 2, 3).

Tightening torque: 4.0±0.5 Nm.

3. Remove the rear light assembly (4) outward from the wing (5).

Note:

When installing, it is necessary to follow the tightening sequence:

• 1. Tighten the nut (1).
• 2. Tighten the nut (2).
• 3. Tighten the nut (3).

Pay attention to the correct position of the sealing frame on the rear light unit (4).

Pay attention to the uniformity of the gap (outside) between the rear light unit (4) and the wing (5).

4. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
