Removal and installation the ignition coil (n46 engine)
1. Read fault codes from the DME ECU memory (digital electronic engine management system).
2. Turn off the ignition.
3. Remove the ignition coil housing.
4. Unlock the ignition coil retainer (1).
5. Disconnect the connector (1).
6. Remove the ignition coil (2).
Note: This sequence is valid for all coils.
Note: When installing, make sure that the lug on the cylinder head cover or head (2) fits into the hole on the underside (1) of the rubber gasket.
Note:
- Check the recorded fault codes.
- Clear fault codes.
7. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
