Removal and installation the oil pan
1. Remove the soundproofing casing.
2. Remove the radiator shroud.
3. Remove the front/rear engine protection panel.
4. Remove the exhaust system.
5. Drain the engine oil.
6. Lower the front suspension crossmember.
Note: Measuring the front wheel alignment angles is not required.

7. Assemble and install tool 000200 with tool 000201/000202/000204/000208.
8. Attach tool 110000 to the front and rear engine lugs.
Note: The struts (1) must rest on the bolts in the fenders.
Attention:
- Do not exceed the specified lifting height under any circumstances.
- Raise the engine by a maximum of 20-25 mm.

9. Remove the screws (1).

10. Remove the screws (1).
Note: When installing, all bolts must be tightened in a crosswise pattern.

11. Remove the screws (1).
12. Disconnect the connector from the oil level sensor.
Note: When installing, please pay attention to the wire holder.

13. Remove the screws (1).

14. Remove the sealing gasket (1).
15. Clean the sealing surface from any remaining sealant.

16. Apply Drei Bond 1209 liquid sealant (received through BMW Parts Delivery Service) in the places indicated by arrows (on the cylinder head cover to the block itself in a thin, even layer).
Caution: Do not lubricate the oil pan seal with oil.
17. Install the oil pan with a new sealing gasket.

Note: Tool 118780 must be removed if the transmission is removed.
18. Install tool 118780 using the gearbox mounting bolts (1) so that the oil pan is exactly aligned with the cylinder block.
19. Tighten the oil pan fastening.
20. Assemble the engine.
