Withdrawal
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
Attention: When the battery is disconnected, the information in the electronic memory devices, such as the engine trouble memory or the radio security code memory, is erased. Disconnect the battery only when the ignition is switched off, so as not to damage the fuel injection system control unit. When disconnecting the battery, follow the instructions in sections "Radio" And "Removing and installing the battery".
Attention: On vehicles with a six-cylinder engine, the battery is located in the luggage compartment on the right side next to the spare wheel.
Set steering to center position.
Remove steering wheel.
Remove the footwell trim on the driver's side.
Loosen the screws of the steering column trim, loosen the upper trim on the sides and remove the trim.
Loosen 1 screw -1- of the switch on the steering column.
Remove the fastener with a screwdriver.
Press the locking hooks on both sides and pull out the switch -2-.
Release the cable ties. Disconnect connector.
Installation
Insert the switch and click into the latch.
Connect switch connector. Fasten the wires with clamps.
Install the switch mount on the steering column.
Attention: When putting on the mount, the direction indicator switch must be turned to the middle position so as not to damage the return cam.
Screw fastener.
Snap on the sides and screw on the steering column trim.
Connect ground wire to battery.
Attention: Connect the battery with the ignition off, otherwise the electronic control unit of the injection device may fail.
Check the operation of the direction indicators.
Install steering wheel
Install the underside trim on the driver's side.
Set clock time.
Set radio security code, see section "Setting the radio code".
