Installation
When changing cuffs, use a complete repair kit. On vehicles with high mileage, it is also recommended to replace all rubber cuffs.
Put on new rubber cuffs. At the same time, close sharp points on the axle shafts with appropriate bushings or glue them with adhesive tape so as not to damage the corrugated covers when they are pulled. Then coat the slots with locking agent Loctite 270.
Attention: The locking mass must not fall on the working surfaces of the hinge.
Assemble the hinge and press it with the cap onto the axle shaft.
Insert retaining ring.
Fill the hinge and bellows with 80 g of grease.
Note: Grease is included with the bellows repair kit.
Clean and degrease surfaces in contact with the bellows.
Cover the large circumference of the corrugated cover with Bostik 475 rot or Epple 4841 rot glue, tighten the cover and secure with new tie-down bands.
Coat the lid with Curil K2 or Stucarit Dicht-Gel 309 sealant and put on the lid.
Install the 2nd cover.
Install half shaft.
