2. Remove the retaining ring.

4. Pull the protective cover off the hinge.

5. Remove the CV joint using puller No.26 1 070 or No.26 1 110.

6. Degrease the ring gear and apply Loctite 648 locking sealant to it.

Make sure that no sealant gets on the ball raceway. The recess (1) for the seal must face the boot.

7. Install the CV joint and push it on until it stops using tool No.23 1 040 or No.24 1 040.
