Removal and installation drive shafts (BMW 7 Series E38)

1. Remove the exhaust system and the corresponding wheel.

2. Remove the bolts.

When installing, do not forget to install the locking plates (1).

3. Remove the flange nut (1).

4. Press out the drive shaft of the drive wheel using tool No.33 2 111/116 /117.

5. On models with ride height control, disconnect the control arm from the wheel bearing support.

6. Disconnect the shock absorber from the wheel bearing support. Raise the wheel bearing support with a lift and remove the shaft.

When installing, the head (1) with the flats of the rubber-metal hinge must face the head of the bolt.


7. Press in the wheel drive shaft using tool No.33 2 115/116/118.
