Removal and installation the parking brake lever (BMW 3 Series E46)

Removal

1. Remove the center console, refer to Section Removal and installation the center console.



2. Completely loosen the locknuts and adjusting nuts of the parking brake cables.

3. Disconnect the electrical wire from the parking brake switch "1" by pressing in the spring clips.

4. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the brake lever.

Installation

5. Insert the cables into the parking brake lever, insert the brake and secure it with screws.

6. Tighten the brake cable nuts by hand.

7. Adjust the parking brake, refer to Section Adjusting the parking brake.

8. Turn on the ignition. The parking brake indicator lamp should go out. If this does not happen, adjust the lamp switch accordingly.

9. Reinstall the center console, refer to Section Removal and installation the center console.
