Withdrawal
1. Remove the rear brake disc.
2. Disconnect the front return spring using pliers, replace the spring with traces of corrosion or the weakened spring.
3. Slightly compress the spring with a 5 mm socket wrench, turn it 90° (1/4 turn) and remove the compression spring from the brake shoe.
4. Remove the spring from the other brake shoe in the same way.
5. Separate both brake pads at the top and remove down.
6. Check up ease of a course of the lock, if necessary remove it. To do this, pull the element -1- back, squeeze out the pin -2- and remove the element -3- from the cable.
Installation
Be sure to replace the brake pads on both sides.
1. Lightly grease the sliding surfaces and the lock pin with grease "Molykote-Paste-G".
2. Connect the top lock with pin -2- to the brake cable.
3. Check the movement of the brake pad adjustment mechanism -1-, lightly lubricate the thread with grease "Molykote". Unscrew the threaded element.
4. Install the brake pad adjuster at the bottom between the brake pads. Connect return spring -2- (smaller diameter spring) with brake pads. 3 - upper return spring.
5. Replace the brake pads. At the top, the brake pads should fit into the grooves (arrows in the illustration) castle.
6. Press the two compression springs with a 5 mm socket wrench and simultaneously rotate 90°. In the closed position, the marking on the screw head is as shown in the illustration.
7. Using brake spring pliers, connect the upper return spring.
8. Brake pads (arrows in the illustration) must be in contact with the brake caliper support.
9. Reinstall the brake disc and rear wheel.
10. Adjust the parking brake, refer to Section Parking brake adjustment.
If the parking brake pads have been replaced, they must be run in on a light-traffic road as follows. While driving at 40 km/h, apply the parking brake carefully until you feel a slight braking effect. While maintaining speed, apply the brake one notch and drive this way for about 400 m. Release the brake and allow it to cool. It is recommended that this process be repeated once every three months, regardless of the replacement of the brake, as this removes rust that may form on the friction surface and wear products.
