Inspection
1. The engine has two supports - on both sides of it.
2. If you want to improve access to the supports, raise the front of the car and place it on secure supports.
3. Inspect the rubber parts of the supports for cracks, hardening, or separation from the metal backing. If such defects are found, replace the support.
4. Check that all support fasteners are securely tightened.
5. Using a sturdy screwdriver or pry bar, use it as a lever to check the play in the bearings. If there is no room for a lever, ask an assistant to rock the engine from side to side, while watching the supports yourself. A small play is acceptable even for new supports, but excessive play will immediately become noticeable. If a large amount of play is found, check the tightness of the fasteners first. If the fasteners are securely tightened, but the play is still large, replace the defective parts or the entire support.
Replacement
6. Support the engine from below with a jack or lift it up with a lifting device just enough to remove the load from the supports. Before proceeding, make sure the engine is securely fastened.
7. Turn away nuts of fastening of the left and right arms to rubber blocks of support. Unscrew the bolts securing the support brackets to the engine block and remove the brackets Disconnect from the ground bus supports (pic. 17.7, a, b).
8. Turn away nuts of fastening of support to a body and remove support.
9. Installation of supports is carried out in reverse order. Tighten fastener securely.
