Cigarette lighter and ashtray (BMW 5 Series E28)

Press. After the coil is heated, the cigarette lighter will automatically return to its original position and can be removed.
Never touch the heating element of the cigarette lighter or its edges; grasp only the holder.
Cigarette lighter socket
It can be used as a socket for a portable lamp, car vacuum cleaner, etc. up to approx. 200 W at 12 V.
Be careful not to damage the socket with an unsuitable plug.
Ashtray

Ashtray in the front of the cabin
Insert the cigarette into the funnel without pressing or forcing it in; shake off the ashes before doing this.
Cleaning the ashtray in the front of the cabin
Pull the ashtray out completely by pressing the spring located underneath it.
Push-button ashtray in the rear compartment
Press the ashtray from above and it will pop out automatically.
To clean, press the spring while the ashtray is open and remove it.
The cigarette lighter for rear seat passengers* is located at the end of the center console.
The cigarette lighter can be used with the ignition key removed. Therefore, do not leave children unattended in the car.
