Actions in case of electrical system failure:

Remove the cover, move the lift-and-slide hatch in the required direction using the Allen key (is included in the tool kit supplied with the vehicle).

Contact your BMW service center to have the defect corrected.

Double lift-and-slide sunroof



Actions in case of electrical system failure:

Closing the front hatch - remove the cover in front of the hatch opening, insert the Allen key (is included in the tool kit supplied with the vehicle) into the hexagon of the engine drive (see illustration above) and rotate counterclockwise.

Closing the rear hatch - remove the plug behind the hatch opening, using a screwdriver if necessary.

Turn the Allen key counterclockwise only.

This hatch can only be closed manually, under no circumstances opened, and before doing so it is necessary to close:

  • front first;
  • and only then the rear hatch.

When closing both hatches, observe the following: Before inserting the key, be sure to pull out the sleeve located around the hexagon using its flat end. After the hatches are closed, fix it in its original position.

To eliminate the defect, contact a BMW service center.
