1. Wash, preserve and additionally treat the engine, underhood space, body bottom, axles and units in accordance with the factory instructions. Wash the car outside and clean the interior, then treat the paintwork and chrome coating. Clean the rubber seals of the hood and doors, sprinkle them with talc or lubricate them with glycerin oil.
2. Replace the engine oil and oil filter with the engine warmed up to operating temperature. As additional anti-corrosion protection for the engine, an anti-corrosion agent may be added to the fuel according to the manufacturer's instructions.
3. Check the level and concentration of the coolant and top up if necessary.
4. Check the electrolyte level in the batteries, add distilled water if necessary.
5. Drain the fluid from the windshield washer tanks and pipes.
6. Fill the fuel tank completely to avoid condensation.
7. Increase tire pressure to 4 bar.
Immediately before parking the vehicle, dry the hand and foot parking brakes to avoid corrosion of the brake discs and drums.
Park the car in a dry and well-ventilated area and put it into reverse (on an automatic transmission - position P), if necessary, place chocks under the wheels; do not apply the parking brake!
Remove the batteries, recharge them and store them in a cool, frost-free room. Recharge the batteries no later than three months later, otherwise they will fail!
The air conditioner should be turned on for a short time at least once a month (especially in the cold season), because otherwise there is a risk of the compressor shaft sealant drying out, which could result in the coolant leaking out.
In this case, the engine should be warmed up to operating temperature (the temperature indicator should be approximately halfway between the two colored fields) to avoid internal corrosion. On cars without air conditioning, the engine should not be started while parked.
When starting the engine in an enclosed area, ensure there is adequate ventilation to avoid inhaling toxic exhaust gases.
If the vehicle is deregistered at the same time, do not miss the re-registration deadline, otherwise the "Operation Permit" will become invalid.
When abroad, please comply with the relevant administrative regulations!
Start of operation after conservation
Recharge the batteries and replace them if necessary.
Instruct BMW service specialists to carry out maintenance-1.
The time the vehicle is parked while the battery is disconnected is not included in the service interval indication.
In order to comply with the two-year brake fluid change interval, this period of time must be taken into account, and the brake fluid must be changed accordingly before the clock symbol lights up.
