Air conditioner condenser (BMW X3 E83)

Removal and installation the air conditioner condenser



Attention:
  • High pressure in the refrigerant circuit.
  • Carry out repair work only when there is no pressure in the refrigerant circuit.
  • Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigeration oil.
  • Observe safety requirements when handling R134a refrigerant.
  • Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigeration oil.

Attention:
  • Only BMW recommended R134a refrigerant may be used.
  • Start the engine only when the air conditioner is charged according to all the rules.
  • If the air conditioner is left open for more than 24 hours, the air conditioner dehumidifier element needs to be replaced.


Note: The standard time for this operation does not include refrigerant recovery, vacuuming, and recharging of the air conditioner.


1. Remove the water cooling radiator.

2. Loosen the bolts (1) and remove the refrigerant lines.


2. Loosen the bolts (1) and remove the refrigerant lines.

Tightening torque: 20 Nm.

Note: When installing, all O-rings must be replaced and lubricated with refrigeration oil.


3. Unscrew the bolt (2) and unscrew the spacer (3).

4. Release the fastening clamp (4) and remove the capacitor (5).



5. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.

6. Evacuate and fill the air conditioner.

7. Fill the cooling system, bleed it and check for leaks.
