Rear muffler (N47 engine) (BMW X3 E83)

Removal and installation the rear muffler (n47 engine)

Caution: Perform these tasks only on a cold engine.

1. Support the exhaust system with tool 312220.



2. Measure the length of the pipes on the new rear muffler.

3. Transfer the dimensions to the faulty rear muffler and mark the cutting line.



4. Cut the exhaust pipe using tool 002210 along the markings and remove burrs from the edges.

Note: Remove burrs with a regular tool.

5. Unscrew the nuts.

6. Remove the rear muffler (1).

Note:

• When installing, it is necessary to connect the new front muffler to the muffler using a clamp coupling.
• Position the clamping sleeve so that the nuts are facing down, the joint is in the middle of the sleeve and there is sufficient space for adjacent parts.

7. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.

Note: After installation, the exhaust system must be checked for leaks.
