Primary catalyst (engine M47 T2) (BMW X3 E83)

Removal and installation the primary catalytic converter (m47 T2 engine)



1. Remove the exhaust system.

2. Remove the stiffening plate.

3. Remove the lower gearbox cover.

Caution: Perform these tasks only on a cold engine.


4. Disconnect the hose (1).

5. Unlock and disconnect the connector (2).

6. Unlock and disconnect the connector.

7. Unlock and disconnect the connector (3).

8. Unscrew the nuts (1).


8. Unscrew the nuts (1).

9. Loosen the screw (2).

10. Unscrew the nuts.


10. Unscrew the nuts.

11. Remove the primary catalytic converter (1).

12. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.
