Since the hydraulic clutch drive operates on brake fluid, before carrying out work, you should read the section "Bleeding the brake system".
Raise the front of the car.
Check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank of the hydraulic clutch drive and, if necessary, top up the fluid to the MAX mark.
Remove the cap from the air release valve on the clutch slave cylinder and from the air release valve of the front left wheel brake caliper.
Carefully ensure that the air release valves can be turned easily.
Attach the transparent hose to the air bleed valve of the front left brake caliper.
Fill the transparent hose with brake fluid. To do this, open the air bleed valve of the front left brake caliper. Have an assistant press the brake pedal and hold it down. Close the air bleed valve and release the brake pedal. Then open the air bleed valve again and press the brake pedal again. Repeat this process until the transparent hose is completely filled with brake fluid. Close the free end of the hose with your finger so that the brake fluid does not leak out.
Attention: The brake fluid level should not drop too much; add fresh brake fluid if necessary.
Place the free end of the clear hose onto the clutch slave cylinder air bleed valve and open both air bleed valves.
Press the brake pedal. Close the air release valve and release the brake pedal. Repeat this process until air bubbles stop appearing in the expansion tank. Constantly add fresh brake fluid.
Close the air bleed valves on the clutch slave cylinder and brake caliper. Remove the transparent hose and put on the dust caps.
Lower the car.
Add brake fluid to the expansion tank up to the MAX mark.
Check the functioning of the clutch and brake system.
Removal air using a special installation
At service stations, air is removed from the hydraulic clutch drive, as a rule, using a special installation. The installation creates pressure in the brake system.
Unscrew the cap of the expansion tank with brake fluid. Remove the float.
Connect the unit according to the operating instructions.
Attach the hose to the clutch slave cylinder air release valve. Place the end of the hose in a bottle of brake fluid.
Keep the air release valve open until air bubbles stop escaping, while pressing the clutch pedal several times.
If air remains in the hydraulic system after repeated bleeding, the slave cylinder must be removed from the gearbox (see section "Removal and installation the clutch slave cylinder").
With the hydraulic tube connected, push the piston pusher into the cylinder until it stops. This allows residual air to escape through the expansion tank and achieves maximum clutch release travel.
Caution: Do not press the clutch pedal when the slave cylinder is removed.
Insert the float into the expansion tank. Add brake fluid to the expansion tank up to the MAX mark. Screw on the expansion tank cap.
