Withdrawal
Drain the coolant from the engine.
Remove V-belt.
Remove fan.
Loosen the belt pulley bolts. While doing this, hold and press the V-belt so that the pulley does not turn. Remove the belt pulley from the hub.
Loosen the 4 belt pulley bolts. On a six-cylinder engine, instead of the bolts shown, unscrew the nuts.
Screw 2 M6 threaded screws into the threaded holes -arrows- while pressing the water pump evenly away from the engine. Do not skew the pump. The figure shows a six-cylinder engine. Proceed in the same way for a 4-cylinder engine, but here the threaded holes are located vertically, see -arrows- in figure W 1841.
Installation
Remove pinch bolts. Replace water pump O-ring and coat with silicone grease.
Fit the water pump with a new gasket and tighten the bolts evenly. The tightening torque depends on the bolt thread size: M6 thread: 10 Nm; thread M8: 20 nm.
Loosen the tensioning pin of the toothed belt tensioner without disturbing the free rotation of the water pump.
Screw on the belt pulley by tightening the 4 bolts to 10 Nm.
Install and tighten the V-belt.
Install a heatsink with a fan.
Fill the engine with coolant and bleed air from the cooling system.
Connect ground wire to battery.
