Withdrawal
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal (see chapter 5A).
2. Lower the rear box/ashtray lid. Press the edge of the lid and remove the drawer/ashtray from the center console (pic. 28.2).
3. Loosen the screws and remove them together with the plastic clips, then remove the ashtray lining. Disconnect the ashtray lamp socket when removing the trim (pic. 28.3).
4. On all models, remove the parking brake lever cover from the center console (pic. 28.4).
5. Turn out two screws and remove facing of a box/ashtray of a back part of the central console (pic. 28.5).
6. Carefully remove the shift lever cover from the trim (pic. 28.6). On models with an automatic transmission remove a cover together with facing.
7. Turn out two screws located in a back part of a socket of the lever of a gear change. Raise the boot trim and slide the rear section of the center console back a little (pic. 28.7). Disconnect all electrical connectors from the console, noting their location. Raise the center console above the parking brake lever. For models with a center armrest, lift the armrest, then pull the back of the console up and forward.
8. If necessary, turn out bolts of fastening, remove the central armrest and disconnect a socket of electroconducting of an indicator lamp of a parking brake.
Installation
9. Put the center console on the parking brake lever and armrest (if it exists). The rest of the installation procedure is performed in the reverse order of removal. Make sure all fasteners are securely tightened.
