Note. The central locking system has a self-diagnosis function. Before removing any component of the system, contact your BMW dealer or an appropriate specialist for troubleshooting and troubleshooting.
Withdrawal
Electronic control unit (BEU)
1. The central locking system is controlled by an electronic control unit (ZKE V), which is sometimes called the master block (GM V). This unit is located inside the car, behind the glove box. To access the unit, remove the glove box (see paragraph 27).
2. Disconnect the fasteners and lower the control box down.
3. Remove the lock, then disconnect the connector (s) electrical wiring and remove the BEU from the car.
Door lock actuator
4. This mechanism is part of the door lock. Removing the door lock is described in paragraph 13.
Trunk lid lock actuator
5. This mechanism is the suit of the trunk lid lock. Removing the lock is described in paragraph 17.
Tailgate lock actuator
6. Remove the tailgate lock (see paragraph 17).
7. Turn out two screws and disconnect the operating mechanism from the lock.
Fuel cap solenoid
8. Turn the latch 90°and partially remove the trunk lining on the right side.
9. Remove the wall of the additional box, then pull back the lining of the luggage compartment (to access the electromagnet).
10. Disconnect the wiring connector, then loosen the fastening screws and remove the solenoid from the luggage compartment (pic. 18.10).
Glove box lock solenoid
11. Remove the glove box (see paragraph 27).
12. Disconnect the electromagnet rod from the lock, unscrew the fastening bolts and remove the electromagnet.
Installation
13. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Before installing the removed cladding panels, check the operation of the central locking system.
