Note. The power window system has a self-diagnostic function. Before removing any component of the system, contact your BMW dealer for troubleshooting and troubleshooting.
Switches
1. See chapter 12, paragraph 4.
Power window motors (models "sedan" And "tourist")
2. Remove the power window (see paragraph 14).
3. Turn out screws and disconnect the electric motor from a window regulator.
4. At assembly establish the electric motor on a window regulator and reliably tighten screws of fastening.
5. Install the power window (see paragraph 14).
Power window motors (model "coupe")
6. Removing the electric motor requires removing the power window assembly from the vehicle. This work should be done at a specialized service station (see paragraph 15).
Side window motor (model "coupe")
7. Using a plastic wedge, carefully remove the plastic cap from the rod (pic. 15.2).
8. Disconnect the rod from the window (pic. 15.3).
9. To remove the plastic casing from the electric motor, press the central pin of the latch, then remove the latch itself and remove the casing from the motor rod.
10. Turn out two bolts of fastening and remove the electric motor together with an arm (pic. 19.10). Disconnect the electrical connector from the motor.
11. If necessary, remove the two screws and remove the bracket from the motor.
12. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Note that the plastic link cap has an internal ridge that must engage with the groove in the link socket.
Electronic control unit (BEU)
13. The power window system is controlled by the central control unit (ZKE V), which is sometimes called the master block (GM V). This unit is located inside the vehicle, behind the glove box. To access the unit, remove the glove box (see paragraph 27).
14. Detach the mount and lower the unit down (pic. 19.14).
15. Remove the latch and disconnect the connector from the BZU (s) electrical wiring, then remove the BEU from the car.
