Removal



1. Turn the wiper on and then off so that the lever returns to its original position.

2. Place a strip of tape along the wiper blade - you will need it when installing the arm.

3. Remove the arm mounting nut cap, then unscrew the nut. Lift the wiper blade away from the windshield and remove the arm from the shaft. If necessary, use a flat-head screwdriver or a suitable puller (Fig. 15.3).

Note: If you remove both arms at the same time, mark them as the arms are not interchangeable.


Installation



4. Before installing the lever, clean and dry the lever and shaft splines, then install the lever so that the brush is positioned along the tape strip. Keep in mind that if the conical hole in the lever is too broken and it does not hold well on the shaft, the lever must be replaced. Screw in the nut, tighten it to the required torque and put on the cap. If you are installing the levers on a new windshield, adjust the position of the levers as shown in Fig. 15.4.
