Note: Brake pads are replaced when their overall thickness decreases (pad and friction lining) up to 7 mm, and the brake pads of both front wheel brake mechanisms must be replaced simultaneously.

Raise the front of the car, place it on stands and remove the wheels.
Knock out the locking pins.
Remove the cross-shaped brake shoe retaining spring.

Remove the inner shoe, using a hook puller if necessary. When removing the outer shoe, the hooks of the puller are inserted into the holes for the locking pins.
Warning: If you are reusing the pads that you remove, mark them before removing them so that you can reinstall them in their original positions.
Fully recess the pistons into the caliper (best done with a special device) and remove the outer shoe.

Note: If necessary, remove a small amount of brake fluid from the hydraulic reservoir, as it may spill out when the piston is pressed into the caliper. Do not use the removed fluid again.
The installation of the pads is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
- whenever replacing the pads, be sure to install new retaining pins and cross retaining springs from the repair kit;
- after replacing the pads, press the brake pedal several times to ensure that the pads are firmly seated on the disc;
- remove air from the brake hydraulic system.
