Remove the wheel cover.
Wheel with steel rim: Grasp one of the vent holes in the cap and remove it.
Alloy wheel: remove the hub cap with a screwdriver.
Bolt cap, made in the form of a large hex nut: removed with a special wrench (located in the trunk under the spare wheel cover) left rotation (compound "bayonet").
Loosen the wheel bolts.
Position the jack at the location closest to the damaged wheel, so that its bottom support rests completely on the road. Turning the handle of the jack, fix its foot in the place intended for this under the bottom of the car. While continuing to turn the crank, raise the vehicle until the wheel is off the road.
Attention: The jack is intended only for changing the wheel. To avoid accidents and injury, never try to lift another brand of vehicle or any load with it.
Attention: Do not lie down under a car supported only by a jack - it is life threatening!
Turn out wheel bolts and remove the damaged wheel.
Take the centering pin from the tool kit and insert it into one of the threaded holes (top if possible - this will facilitate the installation of the wheel).
Mount the wheel on the pin and wiggle it slightly to align the bolt holes. Screw in the two wheel bolts, then remove the pin. Screw in the remaining bolts and tighten them by hand (tightening order - "criss-cross").
Lower the car and remove the jack. Tighten the bolts with the wheel wrench in order "criss-cross". Tightening torque - 110 Nm. At the earliest opportunity, have a workshop check the bolt torque with a torque wrench.
If a wheel with a new disk is installed (on which, for example, a spare wheel is mounted), it is necessary to check the tightening torque after driving 1000 km.
When fitting non-BMW alloy wheels, it may be necessary to use the included wheel bolts.
Install the wheel cap by inserting the inflation valve into its hole and use both hands to press the cap against the wheel rim until it locks into place.
A damaged wheel should be returned for repair and balancing as soon as possible.
For wheel repairs, contact only a BMW workshop or other certified workshop to be sure of a quality repair.
Attention: When installing tubeless tires, for safety reasons, be sure to replace the rubber valve.
