Cars with automatic transmission

Starting the engine by towing is not possible, start the engine from an external battery (see the relevant section).

Towing movement

Turn the ignition key to position "1" to enable the brake lights, turn signals, horn and windshield wipers to operate.

Turn on the hazard warning lights (follow the rules of the country you are in).

If the electrical equipment on the towed vehicle fails, install a towing or emergency stop sign behind the rear window (triangle).

Cars with automatic transmission

Set the AT control lever to the "N" position.

The speed of movement when towing must not exceed 50 km/h.

A vehicle with automatic transmission can be towed for a distance not exceeding 50 km.

When towing a longer distance, add an additional 1 liter of oil to the automatic transmission or remove the driveshaft. After repairing the car, be sure to reduce the amount of oil in the AT and bring its level to normal.

Note: When the engine is not running, the power steering and brake booster do not work. Therefore, you will have to apply greater force when braking and steering the car.
