Table of contents: Examination ↓ Removal ↓ Installation ↓
The solenoid valve for stopping the fuel is located on the high-pressure fuel pump above the fuel hose connections. As soon as the ignition key is set to the "Run" position, the solenoid valve is supplied with voltage from the DDE control unit and the fuel supply channel is opened. In the de-energized state, the valve core is extended by the action of the built-in spring and closes the fuel supply channel. The solenoid valve should be checked if the engine does not start.

Examination

Turn on the ignition. You should hear the valve click.

Model 524td: If the solenoid valve is triggered, check the wiring according to the electrical diagram, as well as the power supply to the DDE control unit and main relay 1 (red). Also shown parts:

  • 2 - fuel filter heating relay (orange),
  • 3 - fuel pump relay (brown)

Model 525td/tds: If the solenoid valve is triggered, check the wiring according to the electrical diagram, as well as the power supply of the main DDE relay 1 (white) and the fuel pump relay 2 (orange, in the relay box).

If the valve does not operate, replace the solenoid valve.

Removal

Unscrew the electrical wire.

Unscrew the electromagnetic stop valve using a 24 mm wrench.

Caution: Do not allow the core and spring to fall out. When de-energized, the valve core is extended by the built-in spring.

Installation

Insert the solenoid valve with a new O-ring and tighten to 20 + 5 Nm.
