Engine and exhaust system (BMW 5 Series E39)

In accordance with the maintenance chart, the following work must be carried out:

Engine: oil change, visual inspection of the lubrication system for leaks.

Perform an exhaust emission test (at idle, check the operation of the catalytic converter, interrogate the memory device of fault codes) — workshop work.

Cooling and heating systems: replacing coolant (every 3 years). Checking the concentration of antifreeze. Visually checking the tightness and external contamination of the radiator.

Spark plugs: replace.

V-belt: check condition.

Fuel system: check the gasket, condition and tightness of the hoses and pipes.

Replace the fuel filter or remove water from it (diesel engine).

Exhaust system: Check for damage.
