Removal and installation the oil pan (BMW 7 Series E38)

3. Unscrew the bolt (1), loosen the clamp (2) of the electrical wiring harness.

4. Disconnect the connector (1), unscrew the bolts (2) and remove the power steering pump (3) from the upper section of the oil pan.

5. Secure the power steering pump (1) to the side, unscrew all the bolts (2) of the lower section of the oil pan and remove it.

When installing, pay attention to the position of the bracket (3).


6. Clean the mating surfaces and replace the oil pan gasket.

7. Relocate the K/L low oil level switch to the new oil pan.

8. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
