Removal and installation or replacing the oil pump (M54)
1. Remove the oil pan.

Please note: Left-hand thread.
2. Unscrew the nut.
Tightening torque:
- M6: 10 Nm.
- M10x 1:25 Nm.
- M10: 45 Nm.

3. Remove the chain drive sprocket with the chain installed.
Note: When installing, it is necessary to align the ring gear, sprockets and oil pump shaft relative to each other.

Note: Execution 1.
4. The oil pump is built into the oil level stabilizer.
5. Unscrew the bolts (1) and remove the oil pump together with the oil level stabilizer.

7. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the oil pump suction pipe.

Note:

8. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the oil pump.

Note: When installing, check the centering bushings (1) for damage and correct installation.

Note: When installing, it is necessary to replace the O-ring on the suction pipe.

9. If necessary, remove the thermostatic piston.
10. Press the bushing down with a suitable rod.
Caution: The thermostatic piston bushing is under spring pressure.
11. Remove the retaining ring.
12. Assemble the engine.
