Removal and installation the right axle shaft



1. Remove the rear wheel.

2. Unscrew the flange nut. To do this, first apply the parking brake.

Note:
  • When installing, it is necessary to replace the flange nut.
  • Lubricate the contact surfaces on the nut and wheel bearing with oil and tighten the nut.
  • Do not allow oil to come into contact with the axle journal and nut threads.
  • Lock the flange nut by tapping it on the flat surfaces of the axle shaft.

Tightening torque: 300 Nm.

3. Disconnect the anti-roll bar from the rear axle beam.

4. Unscrew the screws and remove them together with the plates (1).

5. Separate the axle shaft from the flange using a suitable tool. If necessary, raise the trailing arm using a lift by approximately 20 cm.

Note:
  • Before installing the new axle shaft, make sure that the flange is fully secured in the rear axle gearbox.
  • Replace screws and plates (1).

Tightening torque: M8 x 40: 52 Nm. M10: 80 Nm.

Caution: Do not knock the axle shaft out of the flange.


6. Press the axle shaft out of the flange and pull it out towards the central axis of the vehicle.

7. Installation should be carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.

8. Check the correct position of the axle shaft in the rear axle gearbox.
