Fuel injection system defect (BMW X5 E53)

Analysis of the curve of the maximum value of breakdown voltage when pressing the gas pedal sharply (Fig. 3.50):

• 1 — the amplitude of the onset of the attenuation process does not differ significantly from the amplitude of the maximum value of the breakdown voltage, the injection system is in good working order;
• 2 — the amplitude of the start of the attenuation process is significantly higher than the amplitude of the maximum value of the breakdown voltage, the injection system is faulty — lean mixture, faulty injector, low compression in the engine cylinder.
