Replacing the injection system injectors (BMW X5 E53)

Injector (nozzle) malfunction is manifested by unstable engine operation and poor engine start-up when warmed up. During short-term engine operation after the ignition is turned off.

Replacement of all injectors of the injection system must be carried out in the following order. Switch off the ignition and remove the distribution line (ramp) together with the injectors. Remove the brackets (fuse links) and remove the injectors from the distribution line and replace them. When installing the injector, lubricate the O-rings (arrows, Fig. 3.146) with a lubricant such as technical petroleum jelly to facilitate the sliding of the rubber.
