Fuel injection system injectors (N46) (BMW X3 E83)

Removal and installation all injectors of the injection system (N46)



1. Turn off the ignition.

2. Remove the soundproofing casing.

Attention:
  • The fuel in the fuel lines is under pressure (approx. 3-5 bar). When the fuel lines are disconnected, fuel leaks out. Collect and dispose of leaking fuel.
  • Observe the applicable national disposal regulations.


3. Unlock and disconnect the crankcase ventilation system pipe (1).

4. Unscrew the nuts (2).

5. Unscrew the screws (3).

6. Lift the branch (4) of the distribution line together with the injectors, unlock and disconnect the fuel line.

7. Unlock and disconnect the connector.


7. Unlock and disconnect the connector.

8. Unlock and remove the electrical mounting strip (1).

9. Remove the bracket (1).

10. Disconnect the injector from the branch of the distribution line.

Note: When installing, check and replace the O-rings if necessary.


11. Insert the nozzle completely into the outlet of the fuel line, then pull it out until the groove is flush with the edge of the outlet of the fuel line.

12. Put on the bracket.

13. Install in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the above notes.

Note: To facilitate installation of the fuel injection line branch, lubricate the injector O-rings with a lubricant.
