The coolant pump is centrifugal type, mounted on the front end wall of the engine block. The pump shaft is driven by a poly-V-ribbed (multi-stream) belt simultaneously with the generator and power steering pump from the crankshaft pulley (pic. 6.13).
The layout of the coolant pump is shown in Figure 6.14.
The viscous coupling controls the fan activation. The engines are fitted with a belt «Hutchin-son». The required belt tension is provided by tightening the adjusting bolt of the tension roller to a torque of 8.0 Nm (0.8 kgf·m).
