Removal and installation the telescopic pin of the automatic antenna (BMW 3 Series E30)

To replace the telescopic rod, the automatic antenna does not need to be removed. The telescope is replaced together with the plastic core.

Removal

Turn on the radio so that the telescopic rod extends to its maximum height.



Unscrew the threaded sleeve on the antenna button.

Pull the telescope and plastic core upward. This may require considerable force, especially if the telescope is bent.

Installation

Insert the straightened, pointed end of the plastic core of the new telescope into the antenna support until you feel resistance from the pressure roller.

Turn off the radio so that the antenna retracts.

Press the plastic core to capture it. At the same time, guide the telescope and the plastic core with your hand.

Tighten the threaded sleeve on the antenna head.

Pull the telescope out and in several times. At the same time, lubricate the telescope with a special lubricant.
