Removal and installation door trim (BMW 3 Series E36)
The description is given for the front doors. On the rear doors, the working operations are performed similarly.
Open the window completely.
Unscrew the lock button "1".
On vehicles with electric outside mirrors: Insert a small screwdriver into the slot in switch "3" and pull out the switch.
Pull out the plugs "4", unscrew the screws located under the plugs. To unscrew, you need a Torx key T20.5 door handle.
Move the trim "6" forward, then remove the trim from the door trim.
Compact model: Remove the outside mirror adjustment handle. Pry the switch with a screwdriver, disconnect the connector.
On vehicles with a window lift handle, remove the cover from the handle and unscrew the bolt located underneath. Remove the handle.
Disconnect the inner door trim at the clamp locations. The clamp locations are shown in the Installation section.
If present, disconnect the speaker wire.
Pull the inner door trim upward.
If it is necessary to carefully remove the foam trim from the door cutout.
Carefully glue the foam lining onto the door cutout.
Check if all the clamps of the inner door trim are present, replace defective clamps. 7 loudspeaker.
All the clamps of the upper door shaft seal must be present, replace any defective clamps.
Connect the wire to the speaker.
Insert the trim into the door from above, first pressing it against the door shaft from the front, then from the back, and aligning it slightly with the door. At the same time, pull the trim slightly away from the door from below. The mirror installation wires should be inserted into the hole in the trim.
Press the trim against the door at the clamping points.
Tighten the door lock button.
Screw the screws behind the door handle and secure the trim.
On vehicles with electric exterior mirrors, place the connector on the switch. Insert the switch into the armrest, place the mirror control button. The button can only be installed in one position.
On vehicles with a manual window lift, position the handle with the washer so that when the window is closed, it points forward and upward toward the windshield.
Secure the handle with a screw (6 Nm), put the cover on the handle.
Place the cover on the handle, slide it back and snap it into place.
Removal
Open the window completely.
Unscrew the lock button "1".

All models except Compact

On vehicles with electric outside mirrors: Insert a small screwdriver into the slot in switch "3" and pull out the switch.
Pull out the plugs "4", unscrew the screws located under the plugs. To unscrew, you need a Torx key T20.5 door handle.
Move the trim "6" forward, then remove the trim from the door trim.

Compact model: Remove the outside mirror adjustment handle. Pry the switch with a screwdriver, disconnect the connector.

On vehicles with a window lift handle, remove the cover from the handle and unscrew the bolt located underneath. Remove the handle.

Disconnect the inner door trim at the clamp locations. The clamp locations are shown in the Installation section.
If present, disconnect the speaker wire.
Pull the inner door trim upward.
If it is necessary to carefully remove the foam trim from the door cutout.
Note: The adhesive seal will adhere better to the foam liner if it is removed at low temperatures.
Installation
Carefully glue the foam lining onto the door cutout.
Caution: Do not damage the trim, otherwise there will be drafts in the car. The glue must be applied along the contour, otherwise buy BMW butyl cord and correct the adhesive seal.

Check if all the clamps of the inner door trim are present, replace defective clamps. 7 loudspeaker.
