Clutch, gearbox, transmission (BMW 3 Series E36)

            0

Clutch: Checking the tightness of hoses, pipes, joints; checking the brake fluid level.

Gearbox and rear axle gearbox: Check for leaks, check oil level (Rear axle gearbox oil change: every 40,000 km; gearbox oil change: every 80,000 km).

Automatic transmission: Check fluid level, top up if necessary, ATF. (Oil change: every 40,000 km).

Half shafts: Checking the integrity and tightness of the joint cuffs.

Cardan shaft: Checking the wear of the cardan discs.

The engine torque is transmitted through the clutch, gearbox and propeller shaft to the rear axle gearbox (differential). Two half-axles extend from it to the rear wheels. All parts must be regularly checked, and the oil in both gearboxes must be changed.

Attention: Old oil is handed over to special waste collection points. At the places where oil is sold, a certain amount of old oil is used to pay for new oil. Therefore, do not throw away the receipt and canister for subsequent delivery! The address of the nearest point can be found out at the city or village administration. Under no circumstances pour out old oil or throw it away with household garbage. This causes irreparable harm to the environment, for example, pollution of water bodies.
