Note. To remove the viscous fan, you will need a special thin 32 mm open-end wrench.
Withdrawal
1. Remove the clips and remove the top plastic radiator cap.
2. Disconnect the auxiliary cooling pipes from the fan casing and remove them from the engine compartment.
3. Release the casing from the latches by pulling the central pin out of the latching, then remove the latching. Remove the cover. Note. To remove the cover, perhaps. you have to remove the fan first.
4. Using a special thin wrench, disconnect the viscous coupling from the water pump and remove the fan (pic. 5.4, a, b).
Note. The connection of the viscous coupling to the pump has a left-hand thread. To stop the shaft from turning, screw a metal strip onto the pulley.
5. If necessary, turn out bolts and disconnect the viscous coupling from the fan.
Installation
6. Attach the viscous coupling to the fan and securely tighten its fastening bolts. Install the fan with the right side facing the radiator.
Comment. If the fan is installed with the reverse side to the radiator, then it will not drive air from the atmosphere into the engine compartment, but vice versa. The efficiency of the cooling system in the atom case will be close to zero.
7. Replace the fan and shroud. Screw the fan to the water pump and tighten the fasteners to the required torque Install the fan shroud and secure it with clips.
8. Connect the auxiliary cooling pipes to the casing, install and secure the plastic cover over the radiator.
