Removal and installation the outside mirror (BMW 5 Series E28)

Removal

1. If you just need to replace the mirror glass, insert a small screwdriver into the hole in the base of the mirror and gently pry the plastic holder on the back of the glass clockwise (i.e. move the bottom of the screwdriver to the right). This will release the glass, which can then be removed. If the vehicle has power mirrors, the wiring must be disconnected before removing the glass.

2. To remove the entire mirror, pry up and remove the trim panel (and/or loudspeaker where available).

3. Disconnect the electrical connector.

4. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the mirror.

Installation

Install in reverse order.
