Withdrawal
Removal and installation are explained in the following example: radio from BMW Business. The radio consists of two separate parts: the radio itself with a cassette recorder and amplifier, as well as a radio control unit called an integrated radio system (IRIS).
Remove the volume control button.
Insert a screwdriver -1- size 3 into the slot -2- next to the axis of the volume control and turn it by 90°. Pull out the screwdriver and with it the radio control unit on the left and unfasten it on the right.
Note: If the screwdriver cannot be inserted directly into the slot, it must be attached, rotated by 90°and by sliding the locking plate to the right, the slot can be accessed. Turning the screwdriver further, insert it into the slot.
Disconnect plug. To do this, move the locking clip aside.
Turn both hexagon socket screws -3- to the left until the radio can be easily pulled out.
Pry off multi-pin plug -1- with a screwdriver. Unscrew earth wire -2-. Disconnect aerial wire -3-.
Installation
Install the multi-pin plug and antenna wire on the back of the radio, screw on the ground wire.
Slide the radio into the hole in the instrument panel.
Tighten the hexagon socket head screws.
Connect the multi-pin plug to the radio control unit and secure it with the clip.
Slide the radio control unit into the hole in the instrument panel until it locks into place with the locking plates.
Set the volume control button.
