Removal and installation the clutch slave cylinder (BMW 5 Series E39)
Removal
Only when releasing the hydraulic drive: Using a suitable siphon, suck out the brake fluid from the expansion tank up to the connection point of the top-up hose.
Caution: Brake fluid is poisonous. Do not suck brake fluid out with your mouth through the hose.
Raise and remove the car lower engine compartment cover.

Unscrew the clutch slave cylinder mount from the gearbox.
Unscrew the hydraulic system pipeline from the working cylinder.
Caution: If the slave cylinder is not replaceable, do not disconnect the line.
Installation
Clean the working cylinder rod and lightly treat it with Molykote Longtherm 2 grease.
Attach the clutch slave cylinder to the gearbox and tighten the fastening to a torque of 25 Nm.
Tighten the hydraulic system pipeline to the working cylinder with a torque of 15 Nm. Top up the brake fluid level in the expansion tank and remove air from the hydraulic system.
Install the lower engine compartment cover and lower the vehicle.
